“ We enjoyed one of the better meals weve had in a long time tonight at La Cena in Murray Hill. Given that Jacksonvilles food scene doesnt always leave a lasting impression on me, finding a gem like this is nice. We had a great experience, and the dishes were wellexecuted. We started with beef carpaccio as an appetizer. Ive tasted carpaccio across the globe, but this one stood out as one of the better ones Ive had. For our mains, my husband went for the veal scaloppine parmigiana, while I indulged in the trenette alla Juilianna which came with shrimp and sundried tomatoes in a light creamy sauce. Both dishes were delicious, with the pasta made from scratch inhouse. They also served us crusty bread with salted butter which was lovely. The shrimp in my pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was excellent rich but not too heavy. Our meals came with salads I had a Caesar that was perfectly good but nothing memorable. My husband chose the house salad with a lovely vinaigrette which I would opt for next time. Although I ordered a small pasta, the portions were generous, and we were too full to even think about dessert. All in all, Id rate La Cena a solid 90100 for the Jacksonville dining scene. Its a place worth remembering and definitely worth a return visit! ”

The owner was kind and very friendly with everyone in the restaurant. We enjoyed learning about his background and talking about different cuisines. “ I loved everything about this place. 1st thing to know is that reservations are required even with an empty restaurant, they wont seat walkins. Food is uniformly exceptional, creative and prepared to a high standard. Ask about portion sizes as some of the dishes can feed six people by themselves. Great food. Great service. ”

I can only assume the 1 star reviews are from pretentious morons who thought they deserved to have their feet kissed. This isnt Olive Garden. This is an experience that requires you to act like a polite adult. Every recommendation was incredible, wine pairing was spot on, the affogato blew my socks off. Cant wait to come back. ”
“ My gf and I live in the area and absolutely loved our experience. Her scallop and shrimp pasta dish was the best Italian food we ever had. Mine was very good as well but hers was on a whole different level. Owner even took us in the back and showed us around! Showed us how they make all their pasta from scratch. He had been in business for over 30 years. It was a very unique and great experience. Couldnt more highly recommend it is an experience! Also no kids which is pretty cool too. ”

“ Looking at the reviews before mine, one might assume this is a good but not great restaurant. What kind of dolt could leave a review for anything less than five stars? I love this place. It is best quality in Italy, New York, or San Francisco. I loved the food there. I had a Cioppino that was amazing with a portion and taste fit for a king. The white wine that I started with was firstrate, and my second glass, a rose, was quite good but not as good as the white. As Arnold said in The Terminator, I WILL BE BACK! ”
